Under Saskatchewan law, the fitting and dispensing of eyeglasses and contact lenses to the public are restricted activities. Only registered Opticians, Optometrists and Ophthalmologists are authorized to practice the fitting and dispensing of corrective lenses: The College encourages the public and its members to report any unauthorized practice. Unauthorized practice happens when unlicensed or unregistered persons are engaged in the fitting and dispensing of corrective lenses to the public. This puts the health and safety of the Saskatchewan public at risk. It is the duty and responsibility of this College and its members to do everything possible to protect the public.
