In Saskatchewan, Opticians and Contact Lens Practitioners are regulated by the Saskatchewan College of Opticians.
Licensed Optician (LO)
Health professionals trained to supply, prepare and dispense optical appliances, interpret prescriptions prescribed by Ophthalmologists and Optometrists, fit, adjust and adapt optical appliances. In some jurisdictions in Canada, Opticians are also known as Ophthalmic Dispensers.
Licensed Contact Lens Practitioner (LCLP)
Only Licensed Opticians with special training are legally authorized to fit and dispense contact lenses.
