What is a RSS Feed? How to view RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines or podcasts. An RSS document, which is called a "feed," "web feed," or "channel," contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text. RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with their favorite web sites in an automated manner that's easier than checking them manually.

RSS content can be read using software called an "RSS reader," "feed reader" or an "aggregator." The user subscribes to a feed by entering the feed's link into the reader or by clicking an RSS icon in a browser that initiates the subscription process. The reader checks the user's subscribed feeds regularly for new content, downloading any updates that it finds.

The initials "RSS" are used to refer to the following formats:

* Really Simple Syndication (RSS 2.0)
* RDF Site Summary (RSS 1.0 and RSS 0.90)
* Rich Site Summary (RSS 0.91)

RSS formats are specified using XML, a generic specification for the creation of data formats.

Several more charges are before the courts, and the college will continue to aggressively pursue and prosecute anyone found to be dispensing contact lenses illegally, that have failed to heed the colleges warning to stop their illegal activities.

This morning the Saskatchewan College of Opticians will continue its fight against the illegal dispensing of contact lenses by filing charges against another illegal dispenser which, will be followed shortly by other charges being filed throughout the province. The possibility of injury through improper fitting and hygiene is high, as was evidenced by a study undertaken by our optometry colleagues not long ago. As a result, the SCO is doing everything it can to put a stop to the illegal dispensing of contacts. To assist the college in this endeavour, the college would appreciate it if anyone that comes across someone illegal dispensing would advise the college. We thank those that have assisted us and notified us in the past. If you need any further information or clarification, please call the SCO office at 306-652-0769.
